Santahatchie is a Christmas Service Mission camp that takes place around Christmastime each year. This camp is modeled after the summer mission ministry, Salkehatchie Summer Service, which is sponsored by the United Methodist Conference of South Carolina. Teenagers fourteen years old and older are the workforce and they work alongside college students and adult volunteers. Types of work performed include roofing, repair and replacing flooring, plumbing, building ramps, vinyl siding work and other structural work. Each site varies, but all involve manual labor. In addition to the physical work the participants engage with the homeowners and their families.
