Family Promise could use our assistance in getting back-to-school clothes. Used items in good condition would be welcomed. FP has purchased underwear and one pair of new shoes for every child. Clothing needed: girl sizes 6-7 and 10-12, boy sizes 4-5 and 8-10. Please place your donations in the red box in the Narthex. Thank you for meeting the back-to-school needs of these precious children.
Bethesda will once again open its doors and hearts to the Family Promise families the week of September 10th. At least 200 pairs of hands and feet along with 100 hearts are essential to offer hospitality and fellowship during our Family Promise host week. Are you willing to prepare and serve an evening meal? Are you willing to stay overnight? Are you willing to plan a family activity? Are you willing to become the hands and feet of Jesus? If you are interested in serving and/or learning more about this ministry, please contact Bert Reed at 217-621-2150.
**Health Ministries and the UMW are sponsoring an emergency collection of health kits to send to the Texas hurricane victims. UMCOR says a disaster of this expected scale will deplete their supplies. Here are the instructions for making these kits:
