United Methodist Volunteers In Mission South Carolina (UMVIM - SC) exists to promote, encourage and enable Christians to exemplify “Christian Love In Action”. Our aim is to achieve the Great Commission through providing short-term mission opportunities for everyday Christians. UMVIM - SC provides opportunities for service by developing and nurturing relationships with domestic and international leaders. UMVIM - SC  promotes and encourages mission through our quarterly newsletter, VIM Vigor and Vitality, our printed literature and Web site. These tools present mission to our current community and potential volunteers, as well as to other United Methodists and Christians. We provide training programs for individuals and team leaders to help them prepare themselves and their team(s) for the mission field. The South Carolina Conference Volunteers in Mission schedules International mission trips. You must have a passport and background check. Travel expenses are an individual responsibility. (In the past, Bethesda has provided funds to support such projects) For more information go to Anderson District Volunteers in mission has a very active mission program that has provided workers to repair older churches, repair or replacement of homes for families in need. Meetings are held on the second Monday of odd numbered months, except for July.
