Frequently Asked Questions

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bethesda assembled a task force comprised of church leaders, staff and health care professionals to address the reopening of our church. With safety the primary focus, this team put together a plan that allows us to worship in person while adhering to guidelines set forth by our Bishop and Governor.

We currently have one worship service in the sanctuary at 10:30am with overflow seating in the gym. Ushers will assist in socially distanced seating and face coverings/masks are required when inside any church building. We will continue to have a live stream service at 10:30am on our Facebook page at .

As with most things amidst this situation, many of our programs are simply ‘on hold’. Several of our Sunday School classes and Bible Studies are meeting online while others have started to meet in person. Please call the church office to get more information or see the Calendar section or current Newsletter under the Announcements tab.

Dress ranges from dresses, suits, pants, jeans & business casual.

Our Service is held in the sanctuary at 10:30am.

Yes! Jesus said, “Let the children come to me.” Children learn about worship by participating with adults in worship. We know that means some extra noise at times, but that is expected.

Our Sprouts Nursery is temporarily closed.

You are invited to join the congregation in praying and hearing God’s Word.

In the United Methodist church we believe that the communion table is a time when Christ offers grace to any who desire it. You do not need to be a member of the church. The invitation to participate is given to those “who love Christ, who earnestly repent of their sin, and who seek to live in peace with one another.” Children are also welcome to receive the bread and juice.

You are welcome to give. An offering is received at each service since giving to God is an act of worship expressing our trust, gratitude and devotion. The office does provide yearly contribution statements to regular givers and those who give electronically. Bethesda is a tithing church, giving at least a tenth (usually much more) of its income to missions and ministries beyond the local church.

Ushers are there to help and assist.

Courtney Barnes, our Director of Children’s Ministries, and Seth Wright, our Director of Youth Ministries, would love to meet your children/youth! See the Children’s Page at the Youth Page at

or you can always check our Calendar for a complete list of events.

There are a lot of ways to know what is happening at Bethesda! Announcements are listed in the bulletin and mentioned during Sunday worship; or you can subscribe to our email list, like our Facebook page, follow us on  Instagram, bookmark our website’s blog, and check back often. Links and signup are located at the bottom of this page!

Membership in the church is based on a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to serve Christ in communion with the congregation. You may express your desire to join our mission and ministries through becoming a member by 1) indicating so on the worship attendance sheet, 2) speaking to Rev. Batson or one of the staff members, or 3) emailing Rev. Batson.

Check out our ministry offerings or email for more information.

Both upper lots will be open for parking.  There will be a few spots open in the lower parking lot near the bus shed for people with limited mobility.
